About Us

TSG has over 25 years of experience. It is an independent stud, working with several genetics companies. In collaboration with our genetic partners, we work to fulfill our Mission: "Supplying superior quality genetics through top quality semen along with excellent customer service".

Swine A.I. is a fast-evolving field of science. To keep pace with new learning both Arnold and Stu attend conferences and are in regular contact with industry leaders across Canada, the U.S. and around the world. Both men are committed to the continuous learning required to ensure their customers benefit from the most current and sound, science-based practices that they put in place at TSG.

Arnold Ypma has been working with pigs his entire life. After building his own swine herd, he developed a genetic line (Shade Oak Duroc). When swine A.I. was a new idea, he began a boar stud focusing on quality product and superior customer service. His ability to breed and select superior genetics was realized with the sale of the Shade Oak Duroc line to Hypor Genetics in 2009. Arnold continues to operate a farrow to finish swine herd with his sons, using TSG semen and retains an active role in the management of TSG.

Stuart DeVries was raised on a pig farm, studied agricultural economics at the University of Guelph and got to know many producers in his 7.5 years of marketing hogs at Ontario Pork. His farming roots give him an understanding of TSG’s customers and their business reality. Stu knows well the impact of good reproductive results on the farm’s bottom line. Over his almost 20 years with TSG he has acquired knowledge from many leading genetic and reproductive specialists. Helping TSG customers to troubleshoot and improve on-farm results is an aspect of his work that he genuinely enjoys.

Order Desk

For over 25 years Irene has been the core of customer service here at TSG. As a farmer herself, she just ‘gets it’, things don’t always happen as planned on the farm. Her dedication to the care of TSGs farm customers is simply amazing. If something has gone wrong, with ordering, delivery or product,she will work with you to fix it.

TSG’s order desk requires orders by 10AM the day before delivery

When late orders are received they will be filled only with the product and volume that may be on hand at the time.

If you do not receive order confirmation, TSG does not have your order. Please contact TSG immediately on our land line to ensure delivery.

Delivery Schedule

TSG delivers every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday. Holiday schedules are provided in advance.

Delivery charges apply to all orders.

Shed pick-ups are available. On non-delivery days shed pick ups are charged a $10 handling fee.

Emergency delivery charges will be discussed at time of the event.

Accounts & Payment

Your TSG invoices will be mailed at the beginning of each month for the product shipped in the previous month. Payment is due by the 20th of the month. If you prefer paperless billing, we would be happy to email your invoices and statements. This can be requested through the order desk or by email to accounting@totalswinegenetics.com.

Your monthly payments can be made online with RBC or your Credit Union through their online biller systems. TSG also accepts Interac e-transfer at this email address: payments@totalswinegenetics.com. For direct payment account information please email us and we will share the information you need. If you would like to pay by cheque you can send by mail, or return your payment with the TSG courier by placing a clearly marked envelope in or on your semen storage unit.

Free On - Farm Consultation

(existing customers)

Every farm has a unique set of conditions. Producers may not be aware of all the factors that can affect conception rates in their facility. TSG offers one visit per year to the farms of our customers, free of charge. By spending a few hours(2-4) in your operation TSG staff can provide training in the most effective breeding techniques; trouble shooting for fertility/conception issues; and useful, practical tips on improving results with your breeding program.
